HTC VIVERSE and Bandai Namco Pictures (BNP) are expanding their cooperation on the popular anime BIRDIE WING. With season 2 of the show beginning to air in April 2023, a Nintendo Switch game, a new World in VIVERSE, and VR and smartphone games based on the original anime are all planned for launch in the future.
Developed by WOWWOW TECHNOLOGY CORP., the upcoming Switch game "BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story-" is now available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop. A new BIRDIE WING World in VIVERSE will also launch shortly, showcasing original content from the second season of the anime series. Right now, fans of the anime can visit the BIRDIE WING Metaverse Museum to take in the artistic design and original artwork from the first season of the show.
Produced by Bandai Namco Pictures, the world's first women's golf-themed original anime "BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story" has received praise for its artwork, animation, and storyline. The show tells the story of two talented girls in golf – Eve, who spends her days betting on golf for a living, and Aoi Amawashi, the daughter of the owner of a large corporation and an elite golf player.
The upcoming BIRDIE WING Switch game inherits the show’s brilliant animation and adds role-playing elements, enabling players to experience the world of "BIRDIE WING" through two game modes: Story Mode and Free Mode.
In Story Mode, players will play as the main character Eve and immerse themselves in the original animated plot of BIRDIE WING. Players will participate in exciting golf tournaments, obtaining classic CG images and control characters with costumes based on the game’s plot. BIRDIE WING fans can relive the excitement of the show, while those not familiar with the anime can enjoy a uniquely fun role-playing golf adventure game.
In Free Mode, players can choose the golf course scenery and game mode they wish to experience, and compete with up to 4 friends or computer players. Users can play as the main characters from the anime, utilizing the unique aspects of different characters to perfect their game.
To succeed, players will have to evaluate surface conditions and the ball’s path of flight, just like playing real-world golf. Players can choose between button controls or motion controls, allowing them to experience the joy of golf however they want.
