In this post, we’ll guide you through the process of creating personalized animations using VIVERSE Worlds, our free avatar creator app.
Getting started
To begin, go to VIVERSE Create, sign in with your HTC account, and click Worlds at the top of the screen. Then choose a World you want to visit.
1. Go to the animations feature in Worlds
Create animations for your avatar so you can display lively reactions while interacting with
other users. First, click the animation icon in the upper right.
From there, you have two main options:
Single action: Choose a default action under Animation library.
Combination: Select a multi-action animation.
Not sure where to start? Begin by exploring the Single action tab. You can choose from a variety of default animations, such as simple waves, dances, or expressions. If you're ready to take it up a notch, the Personalized section lets you add unique actions based on your own movements.
2. Create custom animations using your mobile device
To make your avatar even more expressive, record your own movements and turn them into animations. Here's how:
Under Personalized, click VIVERSE Worlds.
Scan the QR code with your mobile device to download the VIVERSE Worlds app.
Open the app and tap the tab at the bottom-center of the screen that shows your avatar. If it’s your first time creating an animation, tap Start. If not, tap Create animation to begin.
Record your movement using your phone’s camera—this can be a wave, a dance, or any action you’d like to capture. Once recorded, save the action, and it will automatically sync with your avatar.
3. Combine actions for advanced animations
Want to create a more complex animation? The Combination tab lets you do just that. Here’s how:
In the VIVERSE Worlds app, tap Create on the Combination tab to view default and captured actions.
Select and preview each action, then tap the plus button to add it to your sequence. You can add up to five actions in a row.
Once you’ve arranged your actions, drag them to adjust the order or tap the delete icon to remove any actions you don’t need.
When you're happy with your sequence, tap Save to combine them into a seamless animation.
